Our Mission

What makes us different

PAR-Recycle Works is a prime example of how multiple social causes can be brought together to have an important community impact.

9,000 people come home to Philadelphia from prison each year. Diverting valuable material from landfills allows PAR to support as many people as possible who are coming home. Through training and assistance, all are rewarded by the value that they can now see in themselves and in their futures. We work together to create a pool of trained, untapped talent for local employers. In this way PAR sustainably reduces recidivism and violence and creates a pathway to positive progress for those left out for so long.

People return from incarceration to rejoin their communities with basic human dignity, gainful employment and control over a vision for their future.
Unemployment, recidivism, crime and violence are reduced in communities of color.
Green jobs and sustainability of our planet become a way of life and of business in our communities (culture.)
E-waste recycling helps to materially slow the course of climate change.
